• Manzil Saini became the first woman IPS officer to hold this post in the history of Uttar Pradesh.
• In January 2017, considering his record as a fearless police officer, the Akhilesh Yadav government selected him and made him the Senior Superintendent of Police of Lucknow.
• In 2018, the new government in Uttar Pradesh under the leadership of Yogi Aditya Nath has started reshuffle in transfers and postings of senior police officers. Where, Deepak Kumar was made the Lucknow SSP in place of Saini, who was then working as the SSP of Ghaziabad.
• During Saini’s tenure as SSP of Lucknow from 2015 to 2017, an incident named ‘Shravan Sahu murder case’ took place in Saadat Ganj area of Lucknow.
• Shravan Sahu was an oil businessman who was fighting in court to get justice for the murder of his son, who was shot dead in 2015.
• Sahu was the only witness to his son’s murder and was receiving constant death threats. He had filed a petition seeking protection from Lucknow Police, but he was not given this service. After the incident occurred, Saini publicly admitted that it was a failure of the police force, which was not able to provide him security. Saini was found guilty of irresponsibility in the investigation of the case by the Central Bureau of Investigation in 2021–23.

Saini and the then District Magistrate of Muzaffarnagar played an important role in controlling the situation after the murder of two Jat youths in Kawal village in February 2014. However, both were shifted to different places by the permanent Uttar Pradesh government. Saini’s transfer was seen by the Jat community as an attempt by the Left government. Hence communal violence increased more rapidly and riots occurred.
