The celebrations in 2023 were as grand as one could expect. The Ministry of Defense said that the National Salute should be done in a disciplined manner when the National Flag is hoisted by the Prime Minister. A formal tribute was presented. The honor was performed by a gathering of five officers and 129 other ranks from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Delhi Police. Army Major Abhinav Detha supervised the inter-services guard and police guard.
In 2023, former beauty pageant winner and accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer, Major Nikita Nair won the title of Miss OTA (Officers Training Academy) during her army training. , Prior to this win, she had bagged the ‘May Queen Miss Pune’ award in 2015.
Major Nair was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Army in 2018 and has since risen to the rank of Major, dutifully serving his country. His initial training took place at the Officers Training Academy in Chennai.
This Independence Day marks the culmination of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit’ festival celebrations, which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister on 13 March 2022 at the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
According to the Ministry of Defence, the National Salute, a gathering of five officers and 129 other ranks from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Delhi Police, will perform a ceremonial display of homage to the Prime Minister when the national flag is unfurled. The 77th Independence anniversary has been celebrated in the country as part of the government’s public participation approach, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi was seen saluting the tricolor along with two women officers at the Red Fort, the capital of Delhi. When Narendra Modi was unfurling the tricolor, two women officers Nikita Nair and Simran Kaur were present with him like shadows and were seen assisting Modi in every reaction.
Modi ji said in his speech that India will be counted in the category of developed countries by 2047. This year, about 18000 special people from all over the country were invited to the Red Fort to hoist the tricolor at the Red Fort. This initiative has been taken from the “public participation approach” of the government. Among these special guests, there were more than 400 Sarpanchs from more than 660 vibrant villages, 250 people associated with Farmer Producer Organization Scheme, 50 people from Pradhan Mantri Samman Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana.
The Defense Minister told that 50-50 workers, people associated with Amrit Sarovar and Har Ghar Jal Yojana will also participate in the construction of roads located on the border and 50-50 primary school teachers also participated.
